Ama Serwaa Mensah has built her career turning failing assets into profitable exits. But when her estranged grandmother, Nana Efua, dies and leaves her a struggling 187-acre salt farm on Aduka Island, Ama inherits more than land.
There is one condition: she must remain on the island for thirty days before she can sell.
What begins as an unwanted inheritance soon becomes a maze of old ledgers, buried family secrets, disputed mineral rights and a forgotten network that once kept an entire community alive. And when a powerful corporation sets its sights on the land, Ama discovers that the salt beneath her feet may be worth a fortune.
As sabotage, greed and long-hidden betrayals begin to surface, Ama must decide what inheritance truly means. Is the land simply an asset to be sold—or a legacy worth fighting for?
SALT ON THE TONGUE is an atmospheric West African family drama about memory, sacrifice, greed, belonging and the dangerous truths families bury to survive.
