When can I send eARCs?
Standalone campaigns can send as soon as you launch them. Store-linked campaigns open once the book is approved or live, independent of the pre-order date.
When is a credit used?
Direct invites, approvals, and Read Now claims use one credit. Every Kindle delivery a reader requests uses one additional credit, including delivery of a newer manuscript version.
Does enabling Send to Kindle cost credits?
No. Enabling it is free. One credit is used each time a reader successfully requests an available manuscript version on Kindle.
What if I have no credit when a reader requests Kindle?
The request waits, you are notified, and it is sent automatically after your balance has a credit. The reader is not shown your balance and can keep reading in Sọna.
Is public listing free?
Discovery is free for 90 days per book. Keeping that book listed after its free window costs 10 credits.
Do purchased credits top up my balance?
Yes. Verified purchases add to your existing balance, so packs stack with whatever you already have.
Is eARC access a purchase?
No. eARC access is review-copy access to read on Sọna. Buying or pre-ordering the store book is a separate reader path.
Where do reviewers read?
Reviewers read full eARCs in the Sọna Reader app for iOS and Android. If you enable Send to Kindle, they may also request a personalised copy at their saved Kindle address. Sọna never provides a browser download.
How does Send to Kindle work?
In a browser, reviewers save a personal @kindle.com address under Reviewer Hub → Reviewer Profile → Send to Kindle and approve [email protected] in Amazon's Personal Document Settings. They then use Send To Kindle on an eligible claimed book in Reviewer Hub → My eARC Shelf. The button appears beside Read In App only when the campaign supports Kindle delivery; it does not appear on pending requests. After successful delivery, it changes to Sent To Kindle and is disabled for that version.
Can a reviewer send the same Kindle copy more than once?
No. Each manuscript version can be successfully submitted to that recipient's Kindle once. Failed Sọna submissions can be retried without another charge. When the manuscript changes, the eARC updates automatically in Sọna and claimed readers are notified. If Send to Kindle remains enabled, reviewers can request the new version for one additional credit.
How are Kindle copies protected?
Each Kindle EPUB contains a visible advance-review-copy notice naming the recipient and a non-visible random forensic marker. However, once a copy is sent outside Sọna Reader, it is no longer protected by Sọna’s account-bound encryption or access controls. The notice and marker support attribution but cannot prevent copying or redistribution.
What is Read Now?
Read Now opens a campaign to everyone, no approval needed. Reviewers add it in one tap, and each claim uses one credit.
What is the Auto-Grant list?
Reviewers you pre-approve once. They can claim your new titles without requesting, and a credit is used only when they actually add a book.
How do I pick good reviewers?
Each reviewer has a feedback ratio, the share of copies they actually reviewed, plus links to where they post. You see both before approving a request.
Can reviewers in any country join?
Yes. eARC and Discovery are open everywhere. Selling on the store and receiving payouts need a supported payout country.
Can I keep a campaign private / invite only?
Yes. A campaign you never list publicly stays out of the eARC catalog entirely — no one can find or request it. You share it with a specific invite link, and only people with that link can claim it. This is the default for private, direct-invite review rounds.
What's the difference between unlist and archive?
Once a campaign has been listed publicly it stays in the eARC catalog — it can't be fully hidden again, only archived. Unlisting simply means you're no longer taking unsolicited requests: the title stays visible as a read-only listing, the public request button is closed, but your invite link still works so invited reviewers can keep claiming it. Archiving closes it for good and marks it as a past campaign, still visible so readers can see what existed. Relisting reopens public requests.
Does unlisting take away the invite link?
No. Unlisting only removes a campaign from public discovery. The invite link and any auto-grant reviewers keep working, so people you invited can still claim a copy — it just isn't open to unsolicited public requests anymore.
Do unlisting or archiving stop reviews?
No. Closing distribution never closes the feedback channel. Reviewers who already received a copy can keep reading and submit or edit their review from the Reviewer Hub after a campaign is unlisted, paused, or archived.
Can I delete a campaign?
You can delete a campaign as long as no copy has ever been claimed or reserved — even if it was published or listed. Once anyone has a copy, delete is closed and you archive instead, so reviewers keep their access and their reviews are never lost. Deleting also clears any pending requests for that campaign.
Can I create a store listing later?
Yes, if your payout country is supported by Sọna. Promote the eARC into a separate draft store listing, edit that copy for submission, and keep the original eARC campaign as review-copy distribution.
