In partnership with The Bookish Collective
A members-only partnership with The Bookish Collective to support the African Book Reviewer Ecosystem.
Join The Bookish Collective, then sign up on Sọna with the same email address you gave them.
Request one Sọna title a month in exchange for a thoughtful, honest review. Share one social or blog link and one sample review.
The Bookish Collective approves each request and chooses the month. The book is then added to your Sọna library.
Read the whole book and submit your review within 30 days, with a 7-day grace period if needed.
Sọna may feature selected reviews on the book page, Reading Desk features, social pages, newsletter, app, or other Sọna channels.
Selected reviews may be edited for clarity, length, grammar, formatting, and platform fit without changing your meaning, sentiment, or opinion.
The Reading Desk Standard
A Reading Desk review helps another reader understand the book and decide whether it is for them. It should never read like forced praise.
Every Review Should
Finish the book before you submit your review.
Send it within 30 days, with a 7-day grace period built in.
Say what worked, what did not, and who you think may enjoy it.
Your view can be positive, mixed, or critical. What matters is that it is thoughtful and genuinely yours. See the Review Style Guide.
