For a long time, buying an eBook online meant one thing for many African readers: you needed a bank card that works for international payments. A lot of readers do not have one.
Sọna now offers more ways to pay. The options you see depend on the country on your Sọna account.
Payment Options at a Glance

- International Card. Pay with a card from any country.
- USDT / USDC. Pay from your crypto wallet.

- Card (Naira). Pay with a Nigerian debit or credit card. This option is for accounts in Nigeria.

How Checkout Works
- Find a book on readsona.com/browse and add it to your cart.
- Go to checkout. Sọna shows the payment options for your account country.
- Choose an option. You see the full total, including the payment fee, before you pay.
- Complete the payment. The book goes into your library.
Books are bought on the website and read in the Sọna Reader app for iOS and Android.
Check Your Account Country
Your account country decides which options you see. If it is wrong, change it in your account settings before you check out.
Prices Are Set in Naira
Authors set one price in naira. Readers outside Nigeria see that price with the payment fee for the option they choose. The fee differs from one option to another, so compare the totals at checkout.
For Authors and Publishers
Your book link now works for more readers. Share it with friends, family and readers in other countries. They can open it, see the payment options for their location, and see the full total before they pay.
Your earnings do not change. You still earn 80% of the price you set, whichever option the reader uses.
