Some stories are best told slowly. With Sọna Unfolding, authors release a book one chapter at a time while they write it, and readers follow along as each chapter comes out. Comics and webtoons are released as episodes.
For Readers
Start Free
The first one to three chapters of every Unfolding book are free. Find Unfolding books with the Unfolding filter in Browse.
Pay per Chapter
Each new chapter is bought on its own and stays in your account. Unlock All buys every released chapter you do not own yet in one checkout. Chapter prices are set by length.
When the Book Is Finished
The author joins the chapters into one full book. If you bought every paid chapter, the full book is added to your library at no extra cost. If you bought some, you pay the full-book price minus what you already paid. If an author stops releasing chapters, you keep the chapters you bought.
Tip the Author
At the end of a chapter you can send the author a tip from ₦100 to ₦50,000. A tip does not unlock a chapter and is not refundable, except where the law requires.
Circle
Some authors invite readers to read chapters early and leave private notes. Joining is free. Use the author's invite link, or ask to join from that page.
For Authors and Publishers
Write and Schedule
Write in the Writing Desk or import your manuscript, then schedule each chapter. Choose one to three free chapters. Comics are uploaded as one PDF and split into episodes at the pages you choose. Each episode must be uploaded at least three days before release, so our team can check it.
What You Earn
- Chapter sales: 70% of the chapter price
- Full-book sales after you complete the book: 80%
Circle
Invite readers with a link, or approve readers who ask to join. Each Circle Reader costs 5 Credits for the whole book. For each chapter you choose Public, Circle Only or Circle Early (seven days before sale).
Complete the Book
Choose Complete the Book in the Chapter Manager and set the full-book price. Sọna joins your chapters into one book with your title page, dedication, author's note and About the Author.
Picture books are published as normal books, not on Unfolding.
