Picture books depend on the relationship between words, illustrations and the page itself. Sọna therefore treats them as fixed-layout publications rather than forcing them into a reflowable ebook.
What To Prepare
- Your finished picture book as one PDF, no larger than 50 MB.
- A clear JPG, PNG or WebP cover no larger than 2 MB. The shortest side must be at least 1200 pixels.
- Your title, author name, blurb, genres, age rating and publication details.
Upload The Book Yourself
Sign in to Sọna Publish, choose Add New Book, select Picture Book, then upload the finished PDF. Sọna prepares each page for protected reading while preserving the layout you designed.
Authors and publishers complete this through their own account. You do not need to send the manuscript to Support for setup.
How The Cover Appears On The Shelf
The shelf keeps a consistent 2:3 shape. If your picture-book cover is square, landscape or another proportion, Sọna keeps the whole cover visible and places it inside that shelf space over a matching softened background. It is not cropped into a different design. A cover that is already 2:3 fills the space normally.
Price And Samples
A fixed-layout store title starts at ₦3,000 and cannot be offered as a completely free book. You can choose sample pages so readers can look inside before buying.
Review And Reading
Sọna checks the file and a person visually reviews the prepared PDF pages before the title can be approved. You choose whether the full book can be read in the Sọna apps and protected browser reader, or in the apps only.
Picture-Book eARCs
The same PDF and cover options are available for standalone and store-linked eARC campaigns. A standalone eARC is review-copy distribution, not a retail sale, so the ₦3,000 store-price rule does not apply. Fixed-layout eARC pages must still complete visual review before reviewers receive copies.
