Sọna supports fixed pages as well as flowing text. Picture books, comics, graphic novels, magazines and periodicals can keep the page design their creators intended, while personal PDFs and EPUBs can be opened in the Sọna readers.
For Readers: Open Your Own Files
Open the free Sọna PDF Reader in your browser, choose a PDF and begin reading. No account or upload is required: the anonymous browser reader renders the file on your device.
It includes single-page, two-page and continuous views, zoom, fullscreen, keyboard and swipe navigation, PDF contents where available and right-to-left reading direction.
If you sign in and choose to save a personal file, your browser sends it to your own linked Google Drive. Personal imports remain separate from Sọna purchases and catalogue books.
For Authors And Publishers: Fixed-Layout Publishing
In Sọna Publish, choose Picture Book, Comic / Graphic Novel or Magazine / Periodical. Upload the finished publication as one PDF of up to 50 MB. Sọna preserves the page layout and prepares protected page assets; readers are not given the source PDF.
A reflowable novel or other text-led book should remain EPUB or DOCX so readers can change type size and let the text adapt to their screen.
Covers Without Destructive Cropping
Fixed-layout covers may be square, landscape or another proportion. The shortest side must be at least 1200 pixels. For the catalogue shelf, Sọna keeps the complete cover visible inside a consistent 2:3 frame over a matching softened background. Covers that are already 2:3 remain unchanged.
Store Rules
Fixed-layout store titles start at ₦3,000 and cannot be offered as a completely free full book. Authors can provide sample pages instead. Every uploaded PDF version completes file checks and a human visual page review before approval.
eARC Campaigns
Picture books, comics and periodicals can also be used in standalone or store-linked eARC campaigns. Authors may launch a campaign with its cover while the file is still being prepared, but reviewers receive the copy only after the PDF version passes its checks and visual review. Standalone eARCs are not retail sales, so the store-price rule does not apply.
App And Browser Reading
For catalogue books and eARCs, the rights holder chooses Sọna App And Browser or Sọna App Only. Protected browser reading never provides a raw file download.
