This is Part 2 of a 3-part series on managing your book on Sona.
Part 1: How to Upload Your Book|Part 3: What Happens at Review
Once your book is live on Sọna, you are not locked in forever. You can make changes at any time, though some are minor and take effect immediately, while others require the team to review again before going live.
Where to Find Your Books
Go to your Publish Dashboard and click My Books in the Navigation Menu. You will see all your books with their current status.
Click on any book to open its detail page, where you can manage everything related to that title.
Understanding Book Statuses
Your book will be in one of the following states at any given time:
- Draft: You started uploading but have not submitted yet
- Under Review: Submitted and waiting for the Sọna team to review
- Revision Draft: You started a revision but have not resubmitted yet
- Pending Reapproval: You submitted changes and they are under review again
- Approved (Scheduled): Approved and waiting for your publication date
- Live: Published and available to readers
- Rejected: Did not pass review, check your email for feedback
- Withdrawn: You unpublished the book
- Archived: Removed from your active books list
What You Can Change Without Reapproval
These changes are minor promotional edits that take effect immediately or on the date you set:
Promotional Discount
You can enable a limited-time discount on your book at any time.
- Click Set Promo Discount from your book's detail page
- Set a discounted price (must be lower than your current list price)
- Set a start date and end date for the promotion
- The discount activates and deactivates automatically
Withdrawing Your Book
If you need to take your book off Sọna, you can withdraw it from the book detail page.
- Your book will no longer be visible to new readers
- Readers who already purchased will keep their access
- If you had active pre-orders, those will be automatically refunded
To reactivate a withdrawn book, click Edit & Republish from the book's detail page. This starts a revision that you submit for review, the book goes back through the normal approval process before going live again.
eARC Campaigns
If your book has a future publication date (Approved - Scheduled), you can enable or disable an eARC campaign at any time without reapproval.
- Toggle eARC on or off from your book's detail page
- Set a claim end date for the campaign
- No review is triggered, the change takes effect immediately
- See the full guide: How eARC Campaigns Work on Sọna.
Downloading Your File
Authors can download a copy of their uploaded EPUB file at any time from the book detail page.
What Requires Reapproval
The following changes are more significant and will send your book back to the review queue. You will need to go through the upload flow again from the relevant step:
- Title
- Author Name or Pen Name
- Book Description (blurb)
- Age Rating
- Publisher Name
- Genres
- Cover Image
- Price (if changing your base list price)
- Sample Enabled or Disabled
- Series Information
- ISBN
- Language
When you submit changes that require reapproval, your book's status changes to Pending Reapproval. The team reviews the changes and your old submission continues to be available to readers during this time.
How to Submit a Revision
- Go to your book’s detail page in the Publish Dashboard.
- Click Edit Book or Start Revision.
- You will be taken back through the upload flow, starting at the relevant step.
- Make your changes and click through to Submit for Approval.
- Your book status will change to Pending Reapproval.
Important: If you start a revision and leave before submitting it, the revision will be cancelled. Your live book will remain unchanged until you submit the revision for approval and it has been approved. You can also cancel a draft revision from the Book Details/Metadata page.
Tips
- Plan cover changes or price increases in advance, since they go through review
- Use the discount feature for promotions rather than changing your base price, it is faster and does not require reapproval
- If you are fixing a formatting issue in the EPUB, that will require reapproval since it involves changing the manuscript file
