disappearing without a trace. Then seventeen-year-old Kulu goes to the market and never comes home. Her implant never sends a distress alert. When Rakiya checks the system, Kulu’s status eventually changes to two words she has seen before: Offline (Error). Rakiya’s university research has already uncovered strange failures in the safety network serving rural communities. Kulu’s disappearance turns those anomalies into something personal. Other girls have vanished the same way, all from underfunded regions still running outdated firmware. As Rakiya follows the data and speaks to the families left behind, a pattern begins to emerge. For Authors and Publishers in South Africa
What You Earn
You set one price in naira and earn 80% of it on every sale. Sọna keeps 20% as its platform fee.
How You Are Paid
Payouts go to your bank account in South Africa and start from ₦15,000. This minimum applies on every payout schedule. We set this level so that conversion and transfer charges do not take too large a share of a small payout. Those charges come out of the amount sent, and each payout record shows the rate and every charge.
Monthly payouts are the default, on the first business day of each month. You can switch to weekly payouts on Mondays, request your balance once every 7 days, or save up to a target you choose.
How to Publish
- Create your account at readsona.com/publish and choose South Africa as your country.
- Add your bank details in Payout Settings and wait for verification.
- Upload your book as an EPUB or DOCX file, or as a PDF for a picture book, comic or magazine.
- Set your price in naira and submit the book for review.
